Eh, not so much. I suspect it's a disagreement between their scales and the WW scales... in fact, I would bet the WW scales have me gaining weight tomorrow. I'm just me, really.

re: blogging regularly

I've been blogging since 2003. Very sporadically. Sometimes I'll post every day. Sometimes I won't post for weeks. I think it's perfectly OK for you not to blog unless you feel you have something to share. However, I would recommend keeping a food journal if you're looking for accountability. You can keep track using a notes program on your cell phone, specific app, or pen/paper. Also might be a good idea to track moods when you're eating (happy, hungry, bored). I find both really help me track down my triggers and when I'm aware of something it makes it easier to tackle head on.

Unless it's the last 20 lbs. They seem to be sticking around forever. ARGH!

re: comfort food

I found new comfort foods to turn to. Single serving bags of low-fat popcorn, yoghurt, hummus & pita, fresh fruit, veggies, etc. I don't even know when it happened, but I realized a few weeks ago that when I do have an emotional eating session, it tends to be foods that are pretty healthy. Kinda snuck up on me.

Perhaps you'll find the same thing will happen to you over time as well?

When I first went to my doctor for help losing weight (well, it was a side conversation when we were discussing an auto-immune disorder), he said "eat less, move more". Sadly, he had no idea how many calories I'd been drinking as opposed to eating. I cut juice and pop completely out of my diet (didn't even drink the diet stuff for months) and significantly cut back on alcohol consumption. I replaced them with water and tea and am sure that explains the first 10-15 lbs I lost. 6 cans of pop a day = +600 calories alone. Once I started logging what I was eating, it was very apparent that I ATE very few calories in any given day. So the solution for me was "drink less, eat triple, and move more".

Thanks for the update. I think I'm trying something new starting this week as well, to hopefully add to my success! More on that later.

Have a great week!
